Randy McAllister
Flying High While Staying Low Down
Freedom First
Randy McAllister has released a "Best Of Compilation" that is a must have for all Randy McAllister fans. It includes great selections
from Dope Slap Soup, Temporary Fixes and A Little Left of Center.
Flying High While Staying Low Down grabs your attention with "The Girl Ain’t Right" – an upbeat, foot tapping tune with great harp,
slide guitar and drum rhythms. Benita Arterberry-Burns sings back-up vocals on this song and on six others on this CD. She adds
an extra depth and dimension to McAllister’s extremely powerful vocals.
Then we slide into "Clear My Head," a song that really speaks to me. ‘So when I need a little break from the world now and then,
I go to that place where my problems don’t even exist. Cause sometimes things become just a little too much. And if I’m going to
stay sane I’ve got to step back when I’ve had enough! Sometimes all I need is just to clear my head’. Everyone can relate to this
nice, easy escape song.
From there we move into "Take Me Out of New Orleans". This is a get-to-your-feet and dance song. Randy’s soulful sound combined
with a "bopping blues" backbeat just gets your whole body moving to this awesome groove.
"That Chicken You’re Fixin" is probably my favorite song on the CD. Listening to this song had me singing along and dancing all over
the house. It’s an extremely funky and fun song." Come on in this kitchen to see me fixin’ chicken, wearing nothing but a smile and
some pumps!" Great lyrics!
Randy McAllister is a great songwriter. "Why" really exemplifies Randy’s writing talent. This song is so heartfelt, searching for real
answers. ‘I’ve been looking back, on what I’ve done wrong…’
This CD is filled with Randy McAllister’s best – 16 songs in all. It is loaded with a plethora of talent of the great musicians that have
played with him throughout the years.
"Flying High While Staying Low Down" is truly a great compilation of The Best of Randy McAllister. This is a "must have" for
all fans.
