Mike Morgan and The Crawl Featuring Lee McBee
The Road
(Black Top BT-1143)

Mike Morgan and the Crawl make another successful stop on The Road, their latest release for Black Top Records. After missing the previous CD, Lee McBee is back with the band lending his biting harp work to this nice collection of mostly original songs. Mike and Lee, backed by fine playing from Johnny Bradley and long time Crawl member Marc Wilson, wind their way through 11 solid tunes. From the hard driving Texas sound of the title track to the reflective "You're Gonna Miss Me Too" this CD shows that the songwriting and playing of the band continue to grow and mature. "Born to Boogie" makes you want to hop in your car and go. "Wino II", a sequel to the 1992 "Wino Talk" tells about a change in fortune for the hard luck man. The band gets real down and dirty with an excellent remake of Chuck Berry's "No Money Down". If you are planning a road trip of your own in the near future this just may be the CD to take along for the ride.
