~ Walking Blues ~

Here is a cool way to walk from an E7 ( I chord ) to the A ( IV chord ) in a twelve bar blues. Start with a standard open E7 chord and then walk up chromatically from the second fret to the fourth fret with your second finger on the 6th string and your third finger on the 3rd string for each beat of the measure. Mute the 5th string and keep the B and high E strings open and let them ring while walking the line. It resolves smoothly to the A chord.
You can also reverse it, and walk down from the A chord. Experiment with different finger picking patterns and use your thumb.

Chord Graph - 04-08

* The numbers following the chord letter are where you fret your fingers on the string. If there is a "0" then the string is open, if there is an "x" then no note is played.

Enjoy, and always keep your ears open.
