The Southwest Blues Heritage Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c) 3,
all-volunteer, corporate organization founded in 2001, for the purpose of supporting and
promoting blues musicians and their music. The primary goals of this organization are to
help educate musicians so that they may further their careers, provide financial relief
for blues musicians and their families and to preserve, promote and perpetuate blues music
for the Southwestern Region of the U.S.A.
For example, since it's founding, the foundation has assisted Joe Jonas, Lady Lotion and
numerous other blues musicians, as well as the funeral costs for Sam Myers and East Texas
blues man Henry Qualls.
The foundation has its web site up and running at: www.swbluesheritagefoundation.com
and will update as needed.
The second of this years bi-annual SW Blues Heritage Festival
for the benefit of the foundation was once again held at J&J's Blues Bar in Fort
Worth.
